Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Stunning graphics, addicting gameplay, longest Resident Evil to date, fun bosses, a complete revival of a series

Weakness: none

This is truly a reason to own a Gamecube. Resident Evil 4 is a total revival of the Resident Evil series. There are no more zombies, no more Umbrella, and no more T or G-virus. Resident Evil 4 takes place in Europe, where Leon has been given an order to find the President's daughter. His investigation leads him to a village filled with crazy villagers. Along the way he will battle with tons of enemies in some of the intense situations ever in an RE, fight some very memorable bosses, and unravel the mystery behind the village's mysterious inhabitants.

Gameplaywise (and in every other aspect for that matter), this game is a perfect ten. Leon now has the ability to aim his gun anywhere and hit different parts of the enemies bodies which will affect them in different ways. Hit them in the hand to make them drop their weapon or hit them in the leg to make them fall. Leon also has a variety of ways to interact with the environment. Sometimes you can barricade yourself inside of a house while trying to fend off a crowd of villagers. The villagers will then use ladders to try to enter the windows upstairs or group up next to the door or downstairs windows and try to break them open. Sound intense? It is, and very well done. As the game progresses the enemies will change, but the same intensity will still be present.

Even though plenty has changed about RE4, it still has an RE feel to it and a few nostalgic moments that will make hardcore fans feel right at home. It has changed enough, however, to bring in plenty of new fans for the RE series. It is definitely a contender for Game of the Year and I cannot recommend it enough.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Fresh story; refined controls; fantastic new camera view; more weapons and ammo for more action-packed gameplay; wonderful graphics and sound; tons of enemies; tons of fun!

Weakness: No quick weapon switch; no strafing; could use an extra checkpoint or two

With Resident Evil 4, Capcom has successfully -- triumphantly -- taken the franchise to the next level. It's really emphasized the "survival" in survival horror, too. You're oftentimes on the run for your life. And villagers, much smarter than any zombie, team up, dodge bullets, and do other nasty things. Then there are the boss fights, which are unexpectedly brilliant. This game is extremely scary, and that fear is intensified by the graphics.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Best RE title yet, best graphics on Gamecube, new camera system, new aiming system, 20+ hour to complete first time, lots of weapons and enemies to kill, more emphasis on action, lots of replay value

Weakness: No grading system at the end of the game

Wow, where to begin. This may end up as one of my favorite games EVER, and I've been playing games since the Atari 2600. Easily one of the best games this generation has to offer. Mikami and co. had the guts to completely change the Resident Evil formula by getting rid of fixed camera angles, pre-rendered backgrounds and other elements of the RE series that we all loved, or hate. In RE4, there's no need to conserve ammo or even backtrack as much as previous RE titles, solving pointless puzzles like finding the chicken key to a room by filling up 2 liter bottles exactly same with 5 ounces of water. Ok, I might have made that up but the previous RE titles had some pretty lame puzzles. In RE4, those puzzles are almost gone and have been replaced with puzzles that actually make sense and avoid unnecessary back tracking. The most obvious change in RE4 is the camera system. No longer does it hover above rooms, giving you the worst possible angles by not showing you what you're shooting at. In RE4, the camera is positioned behind you at all times. The aiming system is very neat as well. You can shoot enemies in the head or in the legs, and they'll react accordingly on where you hit their bodies. There are LOTS of enemies in this game. I'm talking about a death count of over 1000 by the end of this game. Yeah, you can see this game is not the typical Resident Evil game. This game is NON-STOP ACTION. If you hated RE before, reconsider getting this game. Many critics and gamers have agreed that this game is one of the best games they've played, and it's easily a contender for Game of the Year 2005. There are lots of replay values with minigames unlocked after completion. The game is very long, unlike the other RE titles that took maybe 10 hours at most. This game is over 20 hours and that's with LOTS OF ACTION. Other RE titles, you only killed maybe what, 30 zombies? And speaking of zombies, there's none of them in this game. The zombies are replace by smart villagers that for some reason want to tear your head apart. I could tell you why but that'd be spoiling the game. Anyway, just buy this game now if you like ACTION at all. Notice the emphasis on ACTION in this review. There's lots of it, especially for a RE game.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Excellent game play, graphics, 3rd person over the shoulder view, and it is spooky as hell.

Weakness: Absolutely none.

The best survival horror game ever. Resident Evil 4 tops them off. There is an over the shoulder camera view that works excellent. You don't fight zombies in this game, but rather towns fold. Nevertheless, it's still just as frightening as fighting zombies in the previous game. If you are a fan of survival horror, or even if you aren't, you must check out this game.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Excellent Atmosphere Excellent Graphics Excellent Sound Very Immersive

Weakness: Aiming is slow and sometimes imprecise. No strafing, slow turning.

Resident Evil 4 is far above any game in the series and far above any survival horror game ever. The game is filled with atmosphere (as are most survival horror games), but Resident Evil 4 also has a solid shooting engine (if sometimes slow or imprecise) and is filled with action. The camera is now behind the player and this completely changes things. You can actually see whats ahead of you, whats around you, and what you are shooting at. Overall it has excellent graphics, excellent sound, excellent atmosphere, and is an excellent game! 5 Stars, highly reccomended.

Resident Evil reborn on the Gamecube

Strengths: Great graphics, presentation, new control scheme, over the back camera angle.

Weakness: Does not contain bonuses that PS2 version has, aiming could be better, not as scary as the old RE games.

Capcom kind of ran out of steam with the Resident Evil franchise but they reinvented the fourth installment for the Gamecube, and in my opinion, it's the best one yet. The graphics, sound and presentation are some of the best of this console generation. The new analog control scheme and camera angle make a world of difference. There were so many times in the old games where I would die because the D-pad controls were so bad. The only gripe (which is minor) is that RE4 is not quite as scary as the old games. It's filled with more non-stop action moments but contains less of the "dogs crashing through the window" moments that make you jump out of your seat. If I had to choose between the Gamecube or PS2 version, I would probably get the Gamecube due to the better graphics. The PS2 version has some extra items, costumes and extra missions but I believe this (GC) was how RE4 was meant to be played.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Creepy music, Great Environment, Imaginative enemies, Good voice acting, New and better control system, Superior Graphics

Weakness: The aiming of the grenades aren't that great. The last guy was too easy IMHO. Some popping is noticable when playing the bonus games. But this is a nick pick.

Great experience even if your not a Resident Evil fan. Well worth the money. There are multiple bonuses one can go for: Soundtrack CD, Behind the Scenes DVD, Strategy Guide, and Tin Edition. I went for the behind the scenes DVD bonus. But you can download this and the Music off the net, so I would say go for the Strategy Guide or Tin Edition.

Things I enjoyed:
Enemies introduced at the right time. I never got bored killing the same enemy.
Some points in the game made me actually jump. Twitch action sequences are done well.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Everything

Weakness: Now i have to wait for the next one.

Resident Evil 4 is ba far the best entry in the series to date. All I can say everytime I pop it in the 'Cube is "wow". The graphics are beautifully done in way that makes me glad they dropped the classic pre-rendered screens. The sound effectis are so awesome too. You don't know fear until you are walking along in a forest beckdrop with the sounds of a deadly enemy just around the corner. The new enemies are astounding, too. They actually scare me all the way through this time around. Anyways, this game is a must have whether you like Residetn Evil or not.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Graphics, Gameplay, Sound

Weakness: Absolutely nothing

Wow. Resident Evil 4 brought huge changes into the series and somehow, it ended up being one of the best games ever produced. The graphics are simply beautiful -- every environment is unique and there's some very good character designs. The sound is good because of the haunting musical score and the very fitting sound effects which draw you into the game. It's worth noting that the game also supports 5.1 surround sound. The gameplay is unbelievably good as your enemies are smarter and more difficult to dispatch than ever before. There's a ton of action in this game and yes, it's as scary as past installments. Basically, every aspect of the gameplay is well done and the game as a whole is massively entertaining.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Graphics and (re)playability

Weakness: price

My sons are crazy about the Res.Evil series. This installment lives up to all expectations. The graphics will blow you away. The only problem I have with games like this is the price. I bought this one new because we had already rented it, and I knew my sons loved it.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Awesome Graphics and Controls. Great Replayablility.

Weakness: Game is drawn out and seems like it could be a little shorter.

I have played through and beaten this game once. I plan on going back and playing it again some time. If you own a Gamecube and do not own this game, you are missing out on one very great game. This game has the best graphics ever shown on the system. It really gave me new faith in the Resident Evil series since it was getting kind of old and stale. I highly recommend this game to every Gamecube owner. Go and buy it now.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Frantic, engaging gameplay, amazing graphics and sound, fluid control, challenging difficulty

Weakness: Difficulty might be a turn-off to a few people (probably not, though; it's that good)

When this game was first announced, I had no interest in the Resident Evil series. I was never a big fan of gory games, and RE4 didn't impress me too much. After reading a few impressions of the game demo, I gained a little interest. But after seeing the trailer... I had to get this game.

It's worth it. The first thing you'll notice about the game is its graphics. They are without a doubt some of the best visuals you'll see on the current generation of consoles. But graphics don't make a game great. Fortunately, Resident Evil 4 is top-notch in the gameplay area as well. The controls are very similar to previous Resident Evil games, but due to the new camera angle, it plays more like a FPS. It's a good thing the controls are easy, too, because you're going to need as much help as you can get against your enemies. The series' classic zombies have been replaced by crazy humans, who will use every tool at their disposal to ensure your destruction. Expect to find yourself running from pitchforks, scythes, crossbows, and *shudder* chainsaws as the game progresses. And expect to lose your head a few times too. The AI in this game takes every chance it gets to kill your character, and a lot of the time it succeeds.

I really can't find any major faults with Resident Evil 4. The graphics, sound, and presentation are extraordinarily good. The game world is very diverse, more than I expected. The pacing of the game is great; just as you think you'll get a break, something else is trying to kill you. It's a roller coaster of thrills, and it feels just like a great action movie. Unlike other games, the action is all in the gameplay, though. There are cutscenes, but they're generally short and sometimes even interactive. The whole game is an awesome experience, and anyone even remotely interested should make it a point to play this game as soon as possible.

this game is the reason why i got the cube. This game has the best storyline, the best graphics, of any cube game. The game is fairly long and challenging but it makes it worth it. If you don't own it, get it. If you do, why are you reading this you should be playing it.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: 1. Very Visceral 2. Great Graphics 3. Good controls

Weakness: 1. Escorting a helpess npc isn't always fun, and it's a major part of the game. 2. It's on Gamecube, so it's audience is fairly narrow.

This is just a great game. It is one of the best games I have played in a long time. While the only other Resident Evil game I've played is Zero, I have to say the controls in this one feel much better. Controlwise, the only real difference is in allowing you to aim, but actually being able to see where you're going makes the character feel a lot less like a tank. In fact, the controls feel really good now.

I think the game does a fairly good job of keeping up the eerie feeling, despite no longer being able to rely on bad camera angles hiding the monsters. The more open areas of the game are crowded with structures, any of which might be hiding an enemy. I think it feels more real to be ambushed in a real seeming environment, than to walk directly into a zombie because the camera wouldn't let you look in front of you. The boss fights are pretty good. Many of the normal fights happen in very close quarters, giving the player a nearly constant feeling of being nearly overwhelmed, without actually making it impossible. I guess I'm just trying to say that the game does a very good job of puling the player into it.

What else can I say? You might think blowing up people's heads might get boring after a while, but it doesn't.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Amazing graphics and environments, addicting gameplay, bonus games add plenty of replay value

Weakness: Not quite as frightening as previous Resident Evil games, second half of game feels just a little bit too short.

Resident Evil 4 has everything an action game requires, plus enough scare factor to appeal to horror fans. Anyone who loved the concept of the Resident Evil series, but wished for more zombie-blasting action, this is the perfect game for you. The graphics, particularly the character and enemy models, are top-notch. The interaction with the environment is terrific, allowing the player to find more than one way to solve a problem. At one point, you'll find yourself barricaded inside an old cabin, with enemies that will actually break through doors and smash windows to come at you from all sides. Everything about this game is well done and the extra bonus games found throughout only add to its value. My only complaint comes from the feeling that the final area of the game was a bit short and seemed to wrap everything up too neatly, but that might just be from my desire for the game not to end. A definite recommendation.

Resident Evil 4 (GC)

Strengths: Great music and killer graphics!

Weakness: Having to play the same sections over and over again because of a lack of ammo got old real fast. Controls might not be for everyone.

The atmosphere in this game is top notch, dark and spooky. The character models are very well done and I thought the control system worked--this is not a first person shooter and the slow movement and reload time added wonderful tension when you are surrounded by outraged villagers.

Having to juggle weapons and items in a limited amount of carrying capacity and the ability to buy/sell item and weapons added a nice RPG feel to the game.

What can I say, if you are new to Resident Evil series be sure to let yourself sink into the game for a few hours before deciding if you like it. The controls might turn a few people off.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: The graphics are awesome, great soundtrack, flawless gameplay and high replayability!!!

Weakness: NONE!

Resident Evil 4 for the gamecube easily deserves 5 stars! Unfortunately, this game is not available for the PS2 (not until fall at least) or the Xbox because they will miss out on the best Resident Evil game by far. The graphics for this game are spectacular. When are you playing the game, you will feel like you are a part of that world. The sound really shines as well because it is really moody, and brings a scary atmosphere to the table. The best reason to buy this game is because of all the improvements in the gameplay. The biggest complaint about all the other Resident Evil games out there was the camera angles and the frustrating controls. Resident Evil solves all those problems. The new targeting and action controls work out flawlessly. There is a high replay value for this game as well because it keeps a tally of your shot percentage and high score. This game is a definite buy if you own a gamecube!

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: A lot of actions

Weakness: None

Resident Evil 4 is the best action game on the console! The new camera angle changed the whole game! This time you don't shoot zombies, THEY'RE CRAZED VILLIAGER! They are quicker and smarter then zombies, they can dodge your shoots. They attack you with pointy items. This game gives you no room to breathe!

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Gameplay, bosses, sound effects

Weakness: load times, not being able to shoot on the run, no ability to save at any point in the game

Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube is easily the best game in the Resident Evil series and arguably the best game for GameCube period (maybe Zelda Windwalker is its equal). The game uses a unique (for now, I'm guessing it will be copied by others in the future) 3rd person over the shoulder shooting with a laser guide mechanism that is a blast to use. The game designers basically corrected all the shortcomings of the previous games (controls, not enough ammo, camera angles) this time around. My only complaints are long load times, not being able to shoot and run at the same time and having to find a typewriter to save. Aside from those little nitpicks, the action, story and boss battles are all top notch. The game is really hard at spots, but rewarding if you stick with it and complete the game.

Yes, 2005's best console game does have a few flaws....

Strengths: Stellar graphics, updated controls, 15-20 hour single player campaign, lots more action/fewer puzzles, new budget price

Weakness: No longer Gamecube exclusive, lacks PS2 extras, two discs, lacks true widescreen support, too easy

At this point you don't need me to tell you that Resident Evil 4 is a great game. The multiple "game of the year" honors given it by a host of magazines and online sites should be more than enough to warrant your interest. However, I've seen a number of reviews here saying weaknesses: none, and that simply isn't true.

RE4 was supposed to remain exclusive to Gamecube (like REmake and RE Zero), but that didn't happen. PS2 owners can now enjoy all of the game play that Gamecube owners had with additional unlockable weapons and character costumes as well as a new five-hour "Separate Ways" campaign through the main story with Ada Wong.

Although the graphics clearly aren't as good on PS2, you do get true widescreen support and a slightly more challenging game play experience (because ammo isn't nearly as plentiful in the PS2 port). The only other big difference between the two is that the Gamecube original has now dropped to just $20 new at most stores.

RE4 is an excellent game that you should definitely own. If you just own PS2 or Gamecube, go ahead and buy it for that system. However, players owning both machines will probably want to opt for the newer PS2 port. The extra five-hours of game play are definitely worth the PS2's small graphics penalty.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Stunning graphics, tighter control scheme when compared to past entries in the RE series, great enemy AI.

Weakness: Didn't really like the weapon switch system. Being forced to go to the start menu everytime you need to change out a weapon was somewhat of a pain in the behind. It's a minor complaint though.

This game is just amazingly good. Undoubtedly among not only the Gamecube's best games, but the best games of this generation. Capcom delivers big time here with an intense and entertaining game. I have little to no complaints about RE4. The atmosphere is great, which is bolstered heavily by the insane amount of detail in the characters, landscape, and architecture. The soundtrack adds to the creepy vibe of the game as well. The expanded RPG-like weapon system is very cool. The puzzles are engaging, while not being frustrating. Saving points are pretty abundant, as are ammo and health. You aren't banging your head against the wall as you would when playing some past RE games because you have to backtrack 45 minutes to a save point with a single green herb and 3 shots left in your gun. The boss fights are in a word, awesome. The story isn't jaw-dropping but it is solid and doesn't really lag at any point. RE4 is well paced and depending on skill level you can finish it between 15-20 hours. Everything about this game is fantastic. The vast majority of people share the same opinion. So, go out and pick up a copy of the game. You will be better off for it.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Graphics, Atmosphere, Gameplay.

Weakness: It makes other games look bad.

Save yourself the time of reading this review and go buy the game. It's that simple. Resident Evil 4 is one of those rare games that you can recommend with out having to justify it. It is that good.
Even if the game had average or sub-par graphics, weak sound, and a non-existent story, I'd still have to recommend it. The game play and control is tight, and works well in both allowing the player to fight his way through enemies and maintain a suspenseful and frantic atmosphere. The level design is challenging and exciting, forcing you to think even as you are fighting for survival.
As I said, this game would be a solid buy even if it was poor in the superficial aspects. Adding to the greatness of this game are superb graphics, excellent sound and an intruiging story. The graphics are arguably the best of this generation-any game any system. The music is both haunting and exciting, with some truly creepy ambient themes. The sound effect are right up there with the rest of the package, screams, crunches and explosions.

If you're still reading this and haven't been convinced to buy this, I don't know what I can do but say that this is and will be a classic for years to come.

Best NGC game of 2005

Strengths: control, graphics, story

Weakness: ending anticlimatic

This is by far the best game in the series. The game has Leon Kennedy (RE2) fly to Europe to investigate the kidnapping of the president's daughter. Leon travels across a villiage and other locales. The control is refined and the characters are well-developed. A great game and the plot twists are quite unexpected.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Awesome aiming capabilities, No bad angles, great story and incredible graphics

Weakness: Pretty difficult if not used to aiming with the gamecube controle.

This game rocks, awesome graphics and and great story equal amazing game. It took me two to beat but I love all the extra games and brilliant gameplay of aiming an shooting zombies. Watch out for the hooded zombie he literaly cuts you head off with his cainsaw. Aim for thier heads for quick kills and use a big gun for better affects in kills zombies. I though this was a leap forward in what makes a scary game more challenging and breathtaking as the resident evil story and brand continous to grow. Also dont cheat games are meant to be difficult inorder for it to be more rewarding after you overcome the obstacles ahead of you.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Great new action based gameplay, improved new control setup, amazing graphics

Weakness: Ho-hum storyline, no zombies (but there are crazy people)

Everyone knows about the Resident Evil series. It single handedly launched the survival horror craze (although Alone in the Dark was first, there weren't many copycats until after RE). There have been so many RE's that its hard to keep track, but this one, Resident Evil 4, is different. How? Well, it now has a much more action oriented gameplay and better control mechanics. No longer is there a "point offscreen and shoot hoping to hit something" mechanic. Now, when the weapon button is press, you go to an over shoulder view so you can see exactly what's coming at you. In addition, your gun has a laser target so you now know exactly where you're bullets will be going (instead of wasting half of them shooting over a zombie's head). Also, similar to RE3's decision sequence (where you have 5 seconds to pick one of two alternatives and then make do with your new situation, occasionally, the screen will flash either the A button (for action) or some button combination which you'll have to press to performs some reflex driven action, such as dive out of the way of a boulder or jump through a window. Truly inspired and makes for a smooth, yet exciting gaming experience.

And there are no zombies. Instead, crazy villagers run around after you and even dodge your gunfire. That's right, run and dodge. No more lumbering zombies to avoid!

The story is mostly forgettable as you're one person (Leon from RE2) called to save the President's daughter. OK. Whatever. The game is still really a lot of fun and good for some great scares! If you like the RE series at all, or are even curious, pick this one up!

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: A simply amazing action horror game. I can't believe you don't own it.

Weakness: Taken as just a horror experience, it's not that scary.

Resident Evil has been known for two things: jumpy scares and terrible controls. What happens if you improve the gameplay significantly, but as a result it's a little less scary? You get Resident Evil 4, the best in the series and an all-in-all amazing game.

You might not realize it if you're not told, but really, the controls in RE4 are the same as in the previous series entries. The thing is, since the camera is over the shoulder, it totally works. Up is forward, down is back, all the time. You can now aim for specific parts of enemies, and enemies now drop things like health and ammo, so you find yourself looking forward to enemy encounters. Because of this, RE4 is simply not as scary as past members of the series. Still, that's a more than acceptable tradeoff.

Graphically, this is perhaps the best game on the GC. Voice acting is also surprisingly good, and the story keeps you interested. This game has all you want. In fact, I'm downright surprised you don't have it. Buy it now.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Graphics, sound, gameplay, controls, extras... You name it, this game has got it!!!

Weakness: No glaring weaknesses, this is a great game!

Capcom has finally created a worthy sequel o the Resident Evil franchise and has certainly put the SCARE back into survival HORROR. The graphics and sound are simply amazing. Watching “villagers” heads getting blown off and hearing the explosion is truly a gruesome, disgusting, but equally awesome experience to behold. The storyline follows Leon, the police officer from Resident Evil 2, and what has happened with him since that fallout.

However, the gameplay and controls are really where this game truly exceeds. In certain portions of the game, the “villagers” attack you in droves and keep coming, breaking down doors of wooden cabins and ascending ladders into 2nd story windows, not to mention the chainsaw wielding maniacs that WILL kill you with one hit. And this is only the beginning!!! Yes, it is frantic and fun. The new control scheme also works well with the laser sighting to target enemies with the guns you are wielding.

I believe this is the best game for the Gamecube system to date!

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Graphics, audio, story, nice and long 2 CD's worth!

Weakness: None

This is the best looking resident evil series to date! It sounds scary and it looks scary. I love the fact that you can "buy" weapons, items and weapon upgrades. In the previous versions you had to be lucky and find the good stuff, with this version...if you don't find it, you can buy it from the merchants.
The action sequences where you must press a certain combination of buttons exactly when it comes to bosses and other areas can be frustrating. Example, L + R, then A + B ... when they tell you to do it. There was once instance when it there were numerous sequences where you basically had to memorize somewhat just to pass. They made this even harder because they switch up the combinations if you die. It's just frustating...not unbeatable!

I loved the feeling of not wanting to put down the game until i get to the next save, then deciding to see what was next and then i had to just keep on playing...man that was fun.
The length of this game really gives you your money's worth. This is my best game purchase this year. I definitely recommend!!!

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: -graphics -sound -story

Weakness: -none

This game is amazing. It is the bst game i have ever played. I can not find even one thing that should be improved. Do not get the ps2 version it is bad. They made the graphics worse, not as many enemies, it has slowdowns.

Resident Evil 4 (GC)

Strengths: Amazing graphics, top-notch story and action, revamped RE control system

Weakness: None

Resident Evil 4 is one of the best looking games on the Gamecube and the best looking Resident Evil game yet. Every aspect of the game looks amazing, and the sound and voice acting are equally as impressive. The controls have been revamped, with an over-the-shoulder camera system, revised item management, and free-aiming controls. The story is extremely well done, with good pacing and plot points throughout.

It's the best Resident Evil game. Without question.

Resident Evil 4 (GCN)

Strengths: (1) Best graphics I've seen on this generation of consoles (2) Great gameplay, revolutionary execution (3) strong story (4) long game with lots of extras/add on missions/mini games

Weakness: (1) If you are too young to play an M rated game, you are really missing out on this masterpiece

I believe Resident Evil 4 is the greatest game of all time. If you haven't played it yet, I highly recommend purchasing it ASAP. With #4, Capcom has taken Resident Evil into brave new territory. Ditching the static prerendered (yet beautiful) backgrounds of the previous entries, they have constructed a game with much more satisfying full 3D gamplay AND the graphics still look incredible - even better than the previous games. The game also dishes out plenty of really cool creatures and boss fights and keeps you engaged in the story with frequent scripted events and interactive cutscenes. It is truly a long game but it always seems to offer something new - I am amazed at how much variety of gameplay and environments are in this game. Truly, a must have. I have played through it 3 times and unlocked all the extras. I am considering also purchasing the PS2 port as it contains 5 extra hours of gameplay (as a different character).

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: outstanding gameplay, intense

Weakness: none

This game builds on and perfects the previous resident evils. No doubt that this game is the best resident evil to date. Even though there is a lack of zombies, the villagers and religious nuts fill in nicely. One of the best games on the gamecube and a must own for any survival horror fan.

Resident Evil 4

Strengths: One of the best

Weakness: none

Any RE fan does not need a review to justify buying this game. It is simply the best. It has a new control system and perspective, and this game shows up in letterbox on 4:3 televisions.

This game has exceptional AI with awesome realism, making for a very realistic, and frightening gaming experience.

Resident Evil 4

It's with an extreme amount of pleasure that I can inform you that this is no longer the case; it's almost as remarkable that the series that both refined and saturated the genre is now the one to put it to sleep. Resident Evil 4 has arrived as a completely fresh gaming experience that will both astound fans of the series and quiet its detractors. It's Action-Adventure gaming at its absolute...

Resident Evil 4 Review

The most recent in the series that made the survival-horror genre popular, Resident Evil 4 takes on every major gameplay complaint that's ever been leveraged against the series and squashes them like bugs. Possibly the best survival horror game of all time, and certainly one of the scariest, it qualifies as a game you should own if you're old enough to buy it. Parents Beware: It earns its Mature...
